DEAR Editor,-
A team of six bowlers, we arrived to take part in the recent Margate Bowling Tournament and were staying at a cottage in Glenmore Beach. One evening, one of our vehicles had a serious problem with the ignition key jamming. Fortunately for us, it happened on the forecourt of the Glenmore Caltex Garage and both Wayne Nel senior and his son Wayne Nel junior went out of their way to assist us.
They allowed us to leave the car on their forecourt where it would be safe since the garage is open 24/7. Not only that, they also contacted a locksmith for us the following morning as we all had to be on the bowling green by 8.30am.
Upon our return after bowls that evening, we were told that the locksmith had sorted out the problem and was on his way (after hours) to reinstall the faulty ignition part. He duly did this and all was as good as new. Such service and assistance to total strangers should not go without commendation – a most sincere thank you to both Waynes and the locksmith (I unfortunately did not get a name). As ambassadors, you did the South Coast proud!
SIX GRATEFUL BOWLERS
