DEAR Editor,-
I refer to the complaint letter received at the Herald regarding an incident involving lodge manager Peter Pieters. I interviewed Mr Pieters and the security guard who was on duty at the time regarding the incident and personally inspected the room in question. Without going into all the details, I have taken the necessary remedial action and put measures in place to prevent another incident where a guest is placed in a situation where they feel unhappy about treatment received, as well as the quality of the accommodation concerned. We have been in this industry for many years and it is disheartening to receive complaints of this nature.
I sincerely apologise to the guest concerned and assure them that this kind of experience is out of the norm for our establishment. Mr Pieters’ written apology follows.

Oslo Beach Lodge proprietor
With reference to the incident that took place at the Oslo Beach Lodge recently, I hereby request that the customers please accept my humblest apologies for the unfortunate incident and my inappropriate handling of the situation. I sincerely hope that in future if they are passing our way again, they would afford us the opportunity to host them under what, I can assure you, will be entirely different circumstances.
