DEAR Editor;
I refer to the Herald’s front page story, ‘Dark side of Margate’ published recently and believe we (as parents) are to blame.
It is surprising that we only think Margate that has become Sodom/Gomorrah. In fact the whole south coast is filthy. Prostitution, drugs, robbery, theft and child-rape just to mention has become part of life and nothing will stop this situation. Even the prayers and strict laws won’t do any change.
People in power only think of money nothing else, that is why killing for position is so high. We are living in a time when we say ‘God is Devil’ and ‘Devil is God’.
If you speak truth you will find yourself behind bars because you will be violating someones rights. The right to ‘kill’, terminate life, the right to change sex just because I don’t want to be what God created me to be, so how can you change this Sodom and make it Heaven.
We cannot blame the government, schools, churches etc because we are to blame. It is said charity begins at home. Is there any in our homes now? Government cannot force the law if the public disagrees with that law. If you look at these prostitutes, thieves, murderers etc. all are young people who are supposed to be under their parents guidance.
I think government must introduce a law that say if your child is found guilty of any offense, the parent must be charged for the first offence and ordered to pay a fine. But for the second and over, should be locked in prison for a certain period. That will make parents do their job to groom the child the right way.
The only thing to do is go back to basics and do the right thing.
Those who do ‘right’ suffer because of those of us who fail to do the right thing. We were told of New Jerusalem but now we see new Sodom and Gomorrah.
