OPINION: ‘This hospital deserves praise’

I experienced care, concern, empathy, professional conduct from all staff and had access to expert medical facilities.

DEAR Editor,-

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was recently admitted to Port Shepstone Regional Hospital. From the moment I arrived in casualty to my discharge a week later, I experienced care, concern, empathy, professional conduct and access to expert medical attention and facilities from all staff of every colour, creed, gender and religious affiliation.

Sure, I could have had a tastefully decorated room with an en-suite bathroom, a television set with multiple channels, gourmet meals served on trays, but I had far better – I had Port Shepstone Regional Hospital.

I salute and thank you.

AVRIL ANN DE RAS
