OPINION: ‘Michael needs to be applauded’

If you require assistance with an animal, the call-out turnaround time is excellent!

DEAR Editor,-

I just wanted to say how the Lower South Coast SPCA has changed over the last three years. As a young girl, I recall collecting our pets who boarded at the SPCA for a week while we moved from Bergville to Uvongo and how for almost 34 years the SPCA just looked and stayed the same, with a few minor changes, until Michael Muller took over as manager three years ago.

Driving on the N2 toll road, the SPCA and its new, beautifully painted hospital really stands out. Not only does it look fabulous, but the service and care have also improved.

If you phone the SPCA, the phone is answered timeously and if you require assistance with an animal, the call-out turnaround time is excellent!

He has also increased the percentage of animals re-homed and I really think Mr Muller needs to be applauded for the great job he has done in turning the SPCA around.

He really does have the animals’ best interest at heart.
