OPINION: ‘Who cares about authorisation? Fix the dune’

Really, Simon April? Are you honestly going to be a typical bureaucrat and adopt that attitude?

DEAR Editor,-

We are so-called ‘out-of-towners’, resident in the beautiful Trafalgar area for almost a year now. Reading The Herald every week, I picked up the story about the dune destruction. It is very sad indeed, but oh hell man, somebody is at least trying to do something by planting grass to prevent the coming rains from entirely washing away the dune.

Last week I read that it was not approved, but really, Simon April, are you honestly going to be a typical bureaucrat and adopt that attitude? Let whoever is trying to rescue this dune – do it. If we have to wait for all the red tape to be peeled away, we will need that same red tape to try and patch up that poor, already very damaged dune.

Who the hell cares about it not being authorised – fix it!
