OPINION: ‘Reader believes an educational tax is the solution’

Why do people vote if they are not interested in improving the lives of South Africans?

I would like to raise some questions arising from the ‘Fees must Fall’ debate.

Firstly, why did the departments of education, finance and the minister himself not sit down and discuss introducing educational tax whereby everyone who is earning an income contributes a certain percentage, including businesses and companies.

During the manifesto, all parties were talking about work and free education and not discussing ways of getting the funds for education as a united country.

Why do people vote if they are not interested in improving the lives of South Africans.
