OPINION: ‘Proper repairs must be commended’

Hopefully these contractors will be retained to continue the good work on our roads.

DEAR Editor,-

We reside in Umzumbe and travelling on the R102 to Port Shepstone has been a challenge this last year in view of the potholes in various places.

We have noticed a remarkable change in the type of repair work undertaken to the majority of potholes lately. Credit is due to the appointed contractors who have carried out proper repairs instead of the ‘stone filling jobs’ previously done.

We did not notice a name of the contractor on the vehicle as it just said ‘construction vehicle’ and we would appreciate our thanks being passed on to them, as well as to whoever arranged the repair work. Hopefully these contractors will be retained to continue the good work on our roads.
