THE Brazilian Grand Prix was probably the most exciting race of the season, with Max Verstappen charging from 13th position at the three-quarter point and finishing third on the podium!
It really was exciting to watch as the young Dutchman carved his way through the field in soaking wet conditions. This man is really a talent that we will recognise as a world champion one day soon.
Lewis Hamilton meanwhile drove a very good, but relatively uneventful, race as he took the race in his stride, into first place followed 11 seconds behind by Nico Rosberg. He now still needs to win with Rosberg finishing fourth or lower in Abu Dhabi to take a fourth World Championship. So the odds are still on Rosberg to win his first World Championship in two weeks’ time at the Middle East circuit. The race had really been a challenge of very wet conditions with two red flag stoppages and several safety car periods, but all was dominated by Verstappen’s fantastic drive.
Behind the podium trio came Sergio Perez in his Force India. He drove extremely well in the wet conditions and deserved this high placing ahead of Sebastian Vettel in fifth, who was rather put out when Max Verstappen squeezed past him on his way to the front. Carlos Sainz was sixth in the Torro Rosso and Nico Hulkenberg seventh in the second Force India while Daniel Ricciardo, overshadowed by his stellar young teammate, could only manage eighth position followed by Felipe Nasr in the Sauber.
We can’t wait for Abu Dhabi and hope that the final race of the championship will be another exciting race.
