OPINION: ‘Your contribution was invaluable’

We would appreciate hosting of the pupils again at next year's course, which will be held in the first week of October 2017.

DEAR Editor,-

On behalf of the Rotary Club of Port Shepstone we thank the following companies (in alphabetical order) Beekman Group, Desmond Equipment SA, Halfway Toyota, Hibiscus Private Hospital, HOPE Project, Idwala Carbonates, Law Courts, Natal Portland Cement, Port Shepstone Country Club, Port Shepstone Regional Hospital – Thuthusela Rape and Trauma Centre, South Coast Herald, Thompson Motors/Entrepreneurship and Ziphakamise for their contribution to the Youth Leadership Course 2016 ‘A Venture-in-Service’ in October.

The visit to these organisations was one of the top three most successful sessions and played a positive and productive role in the course. We trust that the businesses enjoyed hosting the pupils as much as they enjoyed spending time there.

The presentations given by a representative of each group to the 96 young leaders from 48 KZN schools attending the course demonstrated that they thoroughly enjoyed this exercise. They gathered useful information and gained valuable insight into the leadership of an organisation other than their school.

We would value any suggestion to improve this aspect of the Youth Leadership Course and we would appreciate hosting of the pupils again at next year’s course which will be held in the first week of October 2017. Please forward any suggestions you may have to Patrick at zebra@telkomsa.net
