OPINION: ‘Police station service was a pleasure’

After all formalities were complete, my phone was delivered to me later that day.

DEAR Editor,-

On the morning of December 29, my new cell phone was stolen from my home between 5.15am and 7.30am and my neighbour contacted the Margate Police Station at 8am. Unbelievably the officers arrived promptly WITH the phone, which had been recovered in a morning raid near the taxi rank.

They were caring, kind, very understanding, polite and professional, but advised that I needed to go to the station as well. At the station, I was once again treated so well. My statement was taken by a helpful, understanding officer and after all formalities were complete, my phone was delivered to me later that day.

Constable Ndumiso Nzimakwe, Sargeant Anesh Dawalt, Sargeant Mduduzi Mpofana, Warrant Officer Michael Welsh, Warrant Officer Andre Booysen, Sargeant Michelle van Niekerk, Constable Sandile Xolo and Constable Nkanyiso Lushaba are a credit to our community! They made an unpleasant situation so much easier to deal with.

Thank you to all at ‘our’ police station – it was appreciated.
