OPINION: ‘Thank you for the jobs you do’

I would have hated to work in this confined space, but these employees have to endure it.

DEAR Editor,-

My husband and I went to the Sassa offices in Gamalakhe to apply for pensions and were very pleasantly surprised with the service and assistance received from various employees.

We want to thank these people for doing these very thankless jobs.

Imagine – a small bedroom divided into three cubicles and in each cubicle an interview has to take place.

I would have hated to work in this confined space, but these employees have to endure it and smile when they really do not feel like it, which is most unfair. You cannot blame them if they get upset.

Thank you to the Sassa staff – from a lot of community members who appreciate the work that they do.
