DEAR Editor,-
In the aftermath of our recent hiking ordeal, we want to express our sincere appreciation to the South Coast community who rallied to rescue us.
A special thank you to the different rescue units (from as far as Ballito) who pulled together and searched tirelessly for 32 hours, despite the unfriendly weather conditions.
It was more than a gallant effort across language and cultural boundaries.
Seeing the love and care among people we did not even know, once again confirmed our faith, not only in the God we serve, but also in the people of this beautiful country we live in.
Having said this, we want to thank the NSRI Port Edward and Shelly Beach, SAPS Port Edward Search and Rescue, SAPS K9 Search and Rescue Port Shepstone, GP Security, Specialised Search and Rescue Ballito, Ezemvelo KZN Conservationists, Umtamvuna honorary officers, Med-Evac Ambulance Services, local farmers, Port Edward ratepayers and especially Deon Riley.

We also want to thank those who prayed for our safe return and those who supported our loved ones while we were missing.
But in the end, the glory belongs to Almighty God, who kept His mighty hand of protection upon us during our 32 hour ordeal.
So much more could have gone wrong, but did not, because He kept us safe from harm.
Praise His wonderful name.
