Social Media- ‘A slow killer’ #SESETHU

Sharing child pornography is a crime.

HASHTAG Sesethu made headlines this week, with Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp all abuzz with this inappropriate video.

A young girl (14) pressured by her peers into doing something she probably did not want to do made headlines as people exchanged ‘cellphone numbers’ just so they could all get their hands on the video.

I haven’t seen the video, I don’t want to see it, in fact I don’t have to see it, and neither do you. It’s child pornography.

It beats me, why old married men with young kids are asking for this video and to women doing the same, shame on you!! Here I was thinking we share the struggle of being liberated together…

Where are your values and where are your morals? It’s funny how people only make use of these when it’s convenient for them.

We live in a sick society where it’s okay for people to share child pornography on social media but not okay for women to defend themselves and fight for their rights.

STOP IT, IT’S NOT OKAY!!!!

For those name calling and shaming  Sesethu or Natasha or any other person caught on social media with their private parts exposed, stop and think for a second…

What if this was your child? Your sister? Your friend or someone you know?

Would you still call them names? Would you still be okay with the world saying nasty things about them? Most of all, would you be able to live with yourselves if they committed suicide?

Well, if it happened to someone else, it can happen to you or someone close to you!!!

I’m writing this article with huge disappointment. I’m angry at the person who leaked the video but most of all I’m angry at YOU for sharing it!!!
