DEAR Editor,-
It is frustrating to see and hear that the municipalities are being managed so poorly. Employees fail to do their jobs properly and neglect their duties.
For this reason they should be dismissed and new workers must be employed.
My wife and I are unemployed and have been looking for work for almost six months now, so when I hear of municipal workers using company cars to go partying with (probably using our tax money to fund it all), I cannot help but think that they do not deserve their jobs.
They cannot keep the beaches clean – Uvongo beach is a great example. The toilets are broken and the facility is always dirty and stinks.
The beach is littered with glass, plastic bags and other rubbish. I can attest to this because we live nearby and sometimes visit the beach.
We used to go there every day before 2017, because for some reason and I don’t know why, the problems have just been getting worse. Everyone knows that the lagoon and our drinking water is contaminated with sewage.

I could go on for hours about all the wrongs, but I don’t think there is enough pages in the newspaper!
There are so many easy and effective ways of sorting these problems out. Just employ the right people – those who have a ‘hunger’ for doing the job properly, who put their heart and soul into doing the job and do it with pride.
