OPINION: ‘Barriers aggravate the situation’

The roads department has no staff left who can make decisions and logically sort out problems.

DEAR Editor,-

Further to the article entitled ‘Close call for police PRO’ (SCH May 5), they have aggravated the situation by putting up barriers and now hitchhikers stand in the road.

They should have built a bus lane so that vehicles picking people up would have been able to pull off and then proceed back onto the main road. The problem is that the roads department has no staff left who can make decisions and logically sort out problems.
