OPINION: ‘Why not just widen the road?’

The answer would be to create a safe place for people to wait for a lift, and where taxis, buses or private vehicles can pull over without creating traffic mayhem.

However, the problem is that these errant motorists now simply pull over where the traffic cones end, causing even more mayhem as it’s closer to the bottleneck at the bridge.

The answer would be to widen the road in order to create a safe place for people to wait for a lift, and where taxis, buses or private vehicles can pull over without creating traffic chaos.
