The ‘Act of kindness inspires a nation’ story on the front page of last week’s Herald brought a tear to my eye – the magnificent gesture by an exceptional, modest and compassionate man which ended so wonderfully well.

I’ve often watched the touching video interview with Mogoeng Mogoeng loaded on my phone and have shown it to many other people. It always puts a smile on my lips and a song in my heart.
And how appropriate that Herald branch manager Bevis Fairbrother, of all people, should play a role in reuniting the two key players!
The Bux clan is renowned for compassion and extraordinary generosity – a truly public-spirited family and now even more so.
And this all originated and played out in our little South Coast town of Port Shepstone. What a great tribute to our community. Thank you.
