OPINION: ‘It seems Simon April forgot to mention the year…’

According to the statement the new offices were to be operational by the financial year-end or at the latest, by July 2016.

DEAR Editor,-

My query is that the South Coast Herald published an article about poor service at the Port Shepstone Licensing Department (SCH January 29 ‘Licence renewal nightmare wake-up’) with a statement by municipal spokesman Simon April that things were about to improve with the opening of new licensing offices in Hibberdene, Margate, Port Edward, Leisure Bay and Izingolweni.

These were to be operational by the financial year end or at the latest by July 2016. What the article failed to mention and that Mr April did not mention is what year he was referring to. Can the Herald enlighten readers, please?
