OPINION: ‘Reported leaks go unrepaired’

Reader asks 'what else can he do'?

DEAR Editor,

On July 10 I reported a huge gushing leak at the corner of Sally Road and Lawrence Avenue in Southport.

The repair team attended promptly but, as it was late in the afternoon, I suggested they return in daylight to trace and repair this leak. Ref C 179710/113.

Nine days later, on July 19, I duly received a text informing me me the leak I had reported (quoting the above reference number) had been repaired.

It was not.

A week ago I re-reported it, quoting the reference number.

The leak continues from a pipe measuring about 150mm in diameter.

What else can I do ?
