OPINION: ‘Reader wonders where George Enslin’s ‘there’ is’

Prostitutes wait for customers in from of Silhouette apartment complex and the Angican church.

DEAR Editor,

I refer to exclusive to print article, ‘Margate…Rising’ in last week’s Herald, especially George Enslin’s statement ..“I don’t know where the okes are going, but the prostitutes are no longer there.”

I don’t know where Mr. Enslin’s ‘there’ is.

If he walks or drives down Marine Drive in Margate at any time of the day, he will see many prostitutes waiting for customers especially sitting or standing in front of Silhouette apartment complex and the Anglican church.

He is making a terrible mistake by making such a statement.

The prostitutes are disgusting and a disgrace, as well contributing to the decreasing values of properties in Margate, especially those in Marine Drive.

I have forwarded complaints to Coucillor Dave Watson, spoken to the Business Association representative, forwarded mails to the CPF and police commander, all without any success in getting rid of the prostitutes.

Please let’s solve this problem!
