OPINION: ‘Open discussion is the best way forward’

We have already noticed an improvement, hopefully this can be sorted out in an amicable fashion.

DEAR Editor,-

In response to last week’s article ‘Barking mad about continuous noise’. We too, have had this continuous barking from the same four dogs on the right-hand side (Bairn Street) for the last three years.

Together with neighbors from across the road, we met with the owners of the dogs, who are good neighbours, to discuss this ongoing saga and a solution going forward.

Local bylaws can be obtained from the website regarding the ‘nuisance’ factor and what action to take, however, I do believe the best way forward is to discuss issues in the hope of maintaining good relations, especially in the climate we currently live in (burglaries, etc) in Uvongo.

I must also mention that when the owners are staying in their holiday home and go out, their dogs bark until they get back – which, no doubt, they are not aware of.

We have already noticed an improvement, hopefully this can be sorted out in an amicable fashion.
