Ephesians 2:10 (New International Version)
10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
This is a beautiful scripture, offering so much reassurance, hope and direction.
Firstly, we are something that belongs to God. We are not alone, we belong somewhere, to Him.
We are His handiwork. In other words, God has taken great care over us. We are not something slap-dash, thrown together without a second thought.
A quick look at any diagram of the human body and all its components should be enough to convince one of that.
Even something as small as the human eye is remarkable in its creation.
The qualifying factor though, is that we must ‘be in Christ’, as it is through Christ Jesus that we are recreated if you will, born again by the spirit, and not doomed to die apart from God.
Without Christ, unfortunately, our fate is not great, to say the least. The Bible would appear to be clear on that subject.

So, once you are born again and in Christ, you do good works for God, His kingdom and His people. These are not requirements for salvation necessarily, but an extension of being born again.
Here’s the ‘wow’ part: God prepared these well in advance for you. Each person has his or her own specific ‘work’ to do.
Find out what that is, and then do it with all your heart.
