OPINION: ‘So sad to see the rot set in’

Perhaps these historic buildings can be restored?

DEAR Editor,-

I enjoyed reading the profile on the Marburg area in last week’s Herald. I have lived here for a long time, in fact, at the very house in the photo in Deepvale Road.

Sadly it has now become a place for vagrants, litter and who knows what. The property next to it was a butchery for years and that too is unoccupied and falling to pieces. They are indeed an eyesore.

It would be interesting to know who owns those properties and what can be done to upgrade or improve that part of Marburg – or even restore the building?
