OPINION: ‘Trafalgar is ready for holidaymakers’

It is hoped that the Blue Flag can be reinstated and flying by December 8.

DEAR Editor,-

Residents of Trafalgar have over the past few years borne the brunt of conservative and racist members within the community who have given the village a bad and unacceptable name. These people are now history and the aim is to restore the good and friendly name of Trafalgar.

We wish to thank the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality and Trafalgar Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association for the speedy recovery repairs of the ablution facilities damaged in a fire set by arsonists, who not only damaged public ablution facilities, but also destroyed the equipment belonging to the Trafalgar Surf Club (for disadvantaged children).

Thanks to RNM – and in particular RNM staff members Johan Botha (aquatic safety officer) and Ivan Mchunu (facilities manager), for their valuable assistance in getting the ablution block and surroundings repaired in time for the imminent holiday season. It is hoped that the Blue Flag can be reinstated and flying by December 8.

To ensure a great, friendly and safe holiday season for visitors and locals, a security company has been requested to offer security at the Blue Flag beach and parking lot.

Residents will also work towards obtaining contributions towards replacing the Surf Club’s damaged surfboards.
