Tweni residents thought their local criminals had upped their game when the jungle gym on Tweni Beach suddenly disappeared.

The culprit however turned out to be the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality. Being so close to the sea and regularly used, the jungle gym will need regular maintenance – such as replacing the slats on the walkway and the ropes on the swings.
But the municipality’s policy of ‘tear it down rather than repair’ is totally logical for them – since the jungle gym not there any more, the municipality does not have to maintain it!
