OPINION: ‘Someone should be hauled over the coals’

It has been over two months now and still no response.

DEAR Editor,

On November 9, I went to the electricity department in Marburg and reported defective street lights in Kvalsig Road. Nine days later, I saw their electrician and requested he attend to it. His reply was “We work according to a programme.”

Three weeks later I returned to the electricity department to complain and the receptionist showed me that she had reported it.

She then printed out another job card and placed it in the electrician’s inbox. It has been over two months now and still no response.

Recently I took a drive down Kvalsig Road and found half the street lights out! This is disgraceful service and someone should be hauled over the coals.
