With regards to the letter in last week’s Herald regarding the state of postboxes in Oslo Beach, I would just like to add that when visiting the Port Shepstone Post Office just after 7am recently to check my postbox, I had to try to get past two people sleeping in the postbox area.

It is an ideal place for them to sleep to keep warm and stay dry because it is under cover, but for the public trying to get to their postboxes, it is a problem – and the stench of urine is unbearable every time I visit to check my postbox.
So I try to avoid going there and only check it every two weeks!
