OPINION: ‘Kindness and compassion was so refreshing’

Upon leaving, they very kindly gave us two small quiches to take home for supper.

DEAR Editor,-

Our next door neighbour Yvonne Fillis from Banners Rest Village was killed in a car accident at Trafalgar a week ago.

We drove past the wreckage just after it happened and did not realise it was Yvonne’s car.

We continued on to KC’s Coffee Shop and while there we received a phone call informing us of Yvonne’s death.

Both Brenda, (my wife) and I were terribly shocked, especially Brenda who started to shake, went very pale and started crying.

One of the women from the coffee shop immediately sat us down and brought Brenda a cold drink to help settle her nerves.

Upon leaving, they very kindly gave us two small quiches to take home for supper. Such caring and compassion in today’s world was just so wonderful and reassuring.

We want to thank them for their kindness and may God bless them.
