OPINION: ‘Please don’t leave fishing rubbish on the beach’

I have noticed that many fishermen fish over the weekends and are happy to take the fish home, but they leave all their fishing rubbish on the beach.

My dog and I got tangled in fishing line and it cut through our skin. We now pick up rubbish on the beach every day.

This rubbish is poisoning our sensitive eco-system and if it carries on like this, my generation might not have anything left.

What can we do to sort this situation out?

I look forward to seeing the difference.
