OPINION: ‘Law enforcement ‘angels’ do exist’

I received valuable guidelines as to the manner in which I should approach the situation.

DEAR Editor,-

I recently had a problem with a relative and was extremely desperate for assistance.

At the Port Shepstone Police Station I met with Warrant Officer Johan Maree, who assured me that he would commence administrative proceedings immediately – which was carried out patiently, effectively and with compassion.

Without an appointment, I met with a very empathetic Warrant Officer Ravi Pillay, who then referred me to Lieutenant-Colonel Kishen Giani.

I was warmly received and even offered a soft drink. Both individuals allowed me to verbalise freely and they listened attentively.

I received valuable guidelines as to the manner in which I should approach the situation.

I followed their sage advice and the outcome was absolutely amazing.

The colonel and two warrant officers are dedicated and execute their duties professionally.

There really are angels in our very own police force.
