OPINION: ‘Listening to award-winning excuses’

On one occasion, they lifted a bakkie, placed it on blocks and removed all four wheels.

DEAR Editor,-

A little while ago I approached the electricity department in Marburg and reported three street lights out in Kvalsvig Road.

It took them three months to repair these three street lights, after my being on their case continually every second week (even spoke to the supervisor) and listening to all their excuses.

Now I have one street light out above number 8 in Kvalsvig Road and have already been in to the electricity department three times, reporting and enquiring as to the delay – their reply: waiting for spares. I ask you with tears in my eyes – no globes in stock? (Disgusting!)

I pointed out to them that my neighbour has had two break-ins over the past two weeks while there is no light.

On one occasion, they lifted a bakkie, placed it on blocks and removed all four wheels.

This is an award-winning municipality. (What for I really don’t know).
