OPINION: ‘Community says thanks for the new road’

Commercial Road in Oslo Beach has been upgraded and macadamised into a magnificent, all-weather road.

DEAR Editor,-

Ray Nkonyeni Municipality has regularly been under a lot of criticism in the social media regarding service delivery issues.

However, it behoves me to give credit where it is due.

I therefore convey the community’s utmost appreciation and gratitude to Ray Nkonyeni Municipality – in particular the Technical Services and Roads Departments and their team.

Thank you for the prompt and efficient manner in which the former dirt track known as Commercial Road in Oslo Beach has been upgraded and macadamised into a magnificent, all-weather road, of which we can all be justly proud.

The new road has made an enormous and profoundly positive difference to improving the large traffic flows experienced during peak hours in the Oslo Beach precinct and surrounding neighbourhood.

Grateful thanks also to the consultants and contractors involved in the project for a job well done, despite many difficulties.

It is amazing that when the spirit is willing in the community, any challenge is possible. This is the proof.
