OPINION: ‘What is going on with our postal service?’

Postage fees continue to rise while the quality of service unfortunately heads in the other direction.

DEAR Editor,-

We have had absolutely no post delivered to our Pumula postbox for over a month.

Next thing the box was suddenly jammed with late accounts and five issues of a weekly magazine we subscribe to.

We heard that the post was piling up at the Umzumbe Post Office, although the bottleneck could have been further up the line.

Postage fees continue to rise while the quality of service unfortunately heads in the other direction.

At great expense I’ve been forced to use a courier service for important post, while the GPO loses out on revenue it could have earned from the sale of postage stamps and its own ‘in-house’ courier service.

FRUSTRATED
