OPINION: ‘Destroyed tree grove is a sad sight’

There should be consensus before this kind of felling is done.

DEAR Editor,-

This is very sad to see.

A grove of trees, including slow-growing palms and strelitzias, was cut down in the short space of three days to make way for a house in Paraiso Road, Ramsgate.

Why couldn’t they be incorporated into the scheme of things?

Denying the landscape lowers the water table and increases heat levels.

These plants took many years to grow and five minutes to destroy.

There should be consensus before this kind of felling is done.

If ever there was a sin, this is it.
