DEAR Editor,-
Travelling into work as I have done every day for the last 10 years, I could not help but notice the deterioration of the main entrance to Oribi Plaza.

The ‘Welcome to Port Shepstone’ display area at the traffic lights has most of the letters missing.
Many of the light poles on the main road from the Umtentweni traffic lights to the N2 toll road on-ramp are out of line – some are not working and some almost falling over.
They are in dire need of maintenance. As are the gutters – the weeds are just out of control.
The intersection known as ‘confusion junction’ is dilapidated and untidy and desperately needs attention.
There are unsightly damaged crash barriers just after the bridge, and further on, which have not been fixed in months.
This is an easy fix and could make a better impression.
I note that a private nursery took it upon themselves to put pot plants at the Umtentweni traffic lights. They cleaned up the rockery and painted the kerb.
Well done and thank you to the nursery across the road from Umtentweni Library.
I sincerely hope that our town leaders will look into this.
