OPINION: ‘Illegal electrical connections removed’

This follows after the neighbourhood watch received information about electricity being stolen from the informal settlement.

DEAR Editor,-

The AfriForum branch in Margate recently saw to it that illegal electrical connections at a supply near the Masinenge informal settlement were removed.

This comes after AfriForum’s neighbourhood watch received information about electricity being stolen from the informal settlement.

Key roleplayers worked together to remove the cables.

Illegal electrical connections claim numerous lives annually and the organisation is grateful that the SAPS, other security companies and Eskom could work so effectively together with its neighbourhood watch.

Teamwork such as this confirms the effectiveness and necessity of a local neighbourhood watch and we encourage the community to join us.
