OPINION: ‘Party’ video – Tower 13 responds’

Tower 13 strongly condemns such behaviour and the staff was summarily dismissed and replaced with immediate effect.

DEAR Editor,-

On Sunday, December 2, I was notified by my duty supervisor that she had received a report that the lifeguards on duty at Southbroom beach were having a wild party, involving loud music and alcohol, whilst on duty.

According to our logs, the supervisor had previously inspected the beach at 2.30pm, and this incident took place at about 4pm.

A video has been subsequently posted on a social media site and it clearly shows what transpired.

Tower 13 strongly condemns such behaviour and the staff was summarily dismissed and replaced with immediate effect.

Tower 13 apologises to the community of Southbroom as well as or all beachgoers who were subjected to the unprofessional behaviour of our staff on December 2.

We assure South Coast beachgoers that such instances will be dealt with quickly and decisively and ask that any and all issues regarding our staff be reported to 071 3140603 during duty hours.

All beaches will be manned every day from 7 am to 6 pm from December 13 until January 8 2019, when normal duties will resume.

Director, Tower 13 Lifeguard Services
