OPINION: ‘Still begging for a response from Ugu

Is there a government official or a councillor who can help?

DEAR Editor,-

In a previous letter (SCH, November 16) I complained about not receiving invoices for water availability on my empty stand in Glenmore.

ALSO READ : OPINION: ‘How do you get Ugu to respond?’

I also mentioned that on a previous occasion Ugu waited until arrears and penalties escalated to more than R16 000 before I was phoned, to inform me that my empty stand carries a fee for water availability.

So my contact number was therefore on record.

Ugu is supposed to invoice me in October each year, which is then payable in November. November came and went – no invoice.

Against all odds, I was secretly hoping that after my previous letter was published someone at Ugu (Municipal Manager DD Naidoo?) would follow up, but the ostrich kept its head in the sand.

The only reaction I had was a letter from DD Naidoo dated November 1, in which he instructed one ‘Nokuthula’ to follow up and apologise.

Nukuthula followed the ostrich’s way.

Is there a government official or a councillor who can help?

M SCHOEMAN
