Here a GP, there a GP… everywhere one looks there’s a car with a GP number plate.
Welcome, welcome, welcome.
In fact, you guys can’t believe just HOW WELCOME you are after our disastrous, water-less 2017 season.

We thought you had all left us for good.
It’s too early for stats, of course, but a casual poll of a few local businesses indicates that this could well be the best season for many a year.
Well, so far, no-one can really complain about the sunny weather.
And, apart from a small ‘oopsie’ in Scottburgh lagoon (now resolved), there seem to be no major hiccups.
By and large, taps are running, the sea is perfect for surfing and diving, the fishing is said to be good and there is entertainment aplenty throughout the season.
Even load shedding has been suspended.
A recent trip to Durban and back showed that the ‘Mounties’ are out in full force and there have been no major accidents so far. Touch wood.
However, one truck driver seemed a bit over-eager to get to the festivities this past Sunday.
He claimed his truck’s brakes failed and the large vehicle careered through the traffic lights at Umtentweni at high speed.
Looking at the wreckage shortly afterwards, the driver and a passenger made the wise decision to bale or they would have been crushed.
Not so good for the famous Sport Tweni, run by former Proteas opening batsman, Rudi Steyn.
The truck’s entire load of red paint was dumped on his doorstep. The truck also hit a water main and it looked like a river of blood flowing into a nearby drain.
My old schoolmate Howie Crouch came up with the phrase on Facebook: “Talk about painting the town red!”
Very droll, Howie.
