WELCOME back to work, school and life after the festive season. Happy 2019 to one and all. Here’s hoping that all new year’s resolutions are still in place – eating better, exercising more and so on.

Pennington post office: No one knows what is happening. The electricity is off (and has been for a number of months) and no one seems to be able to advise whether the place is going to remain open or closed.

The mosquitoes in Widenham are shocking. Is this because of the water lettuce on the river? Can anyone give an explanation? I have been told that the situation is dire. People are suffering badly due to the infestation of mosquitoes. Any solutions out there?

The lovely venue TYC Robertson’s Mongoose Tea Garden opens on a Wednesday morning for tea, coffee and an array of goodies to eat.

Recycling is the way to go. Contact Pennington Conservancy; Jeannette will supply you with bags to put in plastic, tins, paper and glass.

These can be dropped off in Pennington for recycling. Phone 039 9752123
