OPINION: ‘Tenants deserve fair treatment’

Some landlords think they 'own' the women and children who live on their property.

DEAR Editor,-

Those ruthless landlords on the South Coast who rent properties at exorbitant prices must remember that tenants are also only human.

They must be reasonable as I am sure that they also had to rent properties at some stage.

Ensuring that their tenants are happy with the property is vital.

Not all tenants are treated with dignity.

Some landlords think they ‘own’ the women and children who live on their property.

There are cases of some women (tenants) being sexually harassed by the landlord and they never speak out because of fear of eviction or community gossip.

It is time for those women to name and shame these so-called ‘landlords’ who harass them and their families.
