OPINION: ‘Open letter to ‘The Butthead’

You’ve come to the end of your career maybe, but your legacies will live for many years to come.

DEAR Editor:

Gonna miss you, Butthead aka Bevis Fairbrother.

We’ve known each other, and worked closely – you in the newspaper world me in the advertising world – for nearly fifty years.

And we’ve never butted heads!

Rather, we worked happily on so many programmes and community services together, that to mention them all would fill an entire tabloid page.

Bevis, you’ve come to the end of your career maybe, but your legacies will live for many years to come.

Your total, unwavering commitment to social needs and social issues is well known.

Every community you’ve served has benefited from your involvement, intervention and your time.

A career well spent.

A retirement well deserved.

Your life is just beginning, my friend.

I’m honoured to call you friend.
