Tuning In: A successful season for Pennington Crime Watch
All told there were no severe incidents of crime in the area with only a handful of minor incidents reported, all of which were opportunistic and related to safety measures in homes being relaxed allowing easy access for perpetrators.
I know that the community will join me in sending heartfelt condolences to family and friends of Rev Cyril Wilkins who passed away on Friday, February 8, aged almost 101! A gentleman who was loved, admired and respected.

A mega pub quiz is being held in aid of various charity organistations on Saturday, March 1 from 1.30pm at the Italian Club Umkomaas. This involves tables of four to six people per team at R100 per person and promises to be a fun time for all. Don’t miss out on a few numbers by the cast of UMPAC too.

Feedback from Pennington Crime Watch: With the 2018 holiday season a distant memory, PCW would like to thank the Saps reservists and volunteer patrollers for their success during the season.
All told there were no severe incidents of crime in the area with only a handful of minor incidents reported, all of which were opportunistic and related to safety measures in homes being relaxed allowing easy access for perpetrators.
In addition to the immediate intervention and support when a visitor suffered a heart attack, the PCW volunteer patrollers and Saps reservists were also directly responsible for the successful identification and recovery of two stolen and one hijacked vehicle and can report the successful arrest of several people suspected of being responsible for recent home invasions.
Thank you to all the members of the community contributing to this worthwhile cause, these results are not achieved by accident but as a result of vigilance and commitment. This radical reduction in crime is a direct result of regular and visible policing of our streets, and with increased membership, Pennington can now enjoy the support of two additional Saps reservists on bicycles.
