OPINION: ‘Thanks for jogging my memory’

DEAR Editor,-

I read scribe Rob Fidler’s Uvongo neighbourhood news with interest recently, especially the heading ‘Who is Sonja Henie?’

I was born and grew up in the Netherlands and vividly remember getting really annoyed as a child – every time someone heard that my name was Sonja, the standard remark was ‘Oh, Sonja Henie!’

I only knew that she was a famous ice-skater, so yes, I do remember her and it brought back memories from long ago.
