YOU can’t keep a good man down, or in the case of Be Fair, former writer of My Take, a funny guy away from a comical/nearly embarrassing situation.
Be Fair was recently at OR Tambo Airport where he was relaxing in the Slow Lounge.

While sipping a cold one, he spotted a face he recognised, someone he was convinced he knew.
Be Fair wandered across to the familiar fellow and was about to say ‘Hey, you’re from the South Coast, aren’t you?’ when, in a rare moment of caution, he decided not to.
“Something just told me not to,” said the man for whom the phrase ‘diving in with both feet first’ was most probably written.
After a while it was time to leave the Slow Lounge and as he moseyed on out, he spotted the familiar fellow, now surrounded by a small mob, the members of which were asking for a modern autograph – the cellphone selfie.
That’s when the identity of the familiar fellow struck Be Fair like a football on the forehead.
Giggs. It was Ryan Giggs.
His ‘friend from the South Coast’ was none other than the former Manchester United Football Club megastar!
Giggs was in the country as an ambassador for the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour presented by Heineken.
Manchester United’s remarkable resurgence under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came to an abrupt halt at the hands (feet?) of arch-rival Arsenal last weekend.
It drops United to fifth and has opened up the battle for a top four spot which guarantees a place in the prestigious Champions League next year.
Of course United could just win it this year – as a stunning victory over Paris Saint-Germain showed – and solve itself that stress.
Meanwhile, the English premier league is heading for one its most exciting climaxes in some years, with the winners likely to be defending champions Manchester City or possibly Liverpool, after 29 long years.
It’s so exciting even my wife is gripped.
Okay, not really.
