OPINION: ‘Will the new entrance be maintained?’

As long as indigenous plants are not destroyed, it can be beneficial from a security point and is pleasing to look at.

DEAR Editor,-

I think the corner of North Road and Marine Drive in Oslo Beach looks like a tyre graveyard.

It may have been a great way to reuse tyres, but at present it is a bit of an eyesore.

I am not sure if this will encourage more dumping of tyres or become a place where one can collect tyres.

Perhaps the next time we are dissatisfied with government, council, municipalities or Eskom, we can collect some of the tyres, blockade the road and set them alight.

Let’s not be negative when it comes to someone trying to make a difference to the neighborhood.

As long as indigenous trees and plants are not destroyed in the process, it can be beneficial from a security point and is pleasing to look at.

However, once a clearing is made and not constantly maintained, it will end up being a nursery for alien weeds and plants – only time will tell.
