OPINION: ‘There are sick individuals out there’

My question to the people who did this is just how sick and twisted are you that you can leave living creatures to die on the side of the road?

DEAR Editor:

I have often wondered why it is that some people can appear to others as caring, normal human beings but behind the facade, they are sick and twisted individuals. I run into situations, too often for my own comfort, where these evil human beings have been present.

The problem reared its head again three weeks ago and I am still finding it difficult to come to terms with the pure, inherent evil that lives in some people.

I received a call from a very distressed couple saying that someone had left six tiny puppies at the lookout near Croc World on the R102. They were about four to five weeks old, emaciated, full of worms, ticks and fleas, mange, and so very fearful. Five little males and one tiny little female. There is no way that I would turn them away so home we went. Riddled with ticks and fleas the first bath turned out to be the best thing that has ever happened to them. One was not able to walk and had to drag his back legs. But he lay down in the nice hot water and totally relaxed while I bathed and soothed his itchy skin and painful hind legs.

My question to the people who did this is just how sick and twisted are you that you can leave living creatures to die on the side of the road?

How do you sleep at night knowing what you have done, or are you so full of evil that it does not matter? Know this, I don’t know who you are because you made sure you were not caught in the act, but God sees it all and you will be held accountable.

The pups are all doing well and even the little lame one we have called Ace is running and playing. A blessing to all who share time with him. The look in those little eyes says it all.

Hugs and sloppy kisses from all the pooches and kitties.
