OPINION: ‘Something positive needs to be done’

Despite sending the photographs, many times, to relevant municipal departments I have received no response.

DEAR Editor:

The bend on Adams and Marine Drive has always been dangerous. I think that Umdoni Municipality will only do something positive like repairing the street lamps, putting up chevrons or cutting the grass is when someone dies in one of the many accidents I have witnessed in the nine years I have lived overlooking this section of the road.

The photos clearly show one chevron and high grass. The other is of the accident that took place last week. The lighting is from our flats and the passing vehicles as no street lights are working.

Despite sending the photographs, many times, to relevant municipal departments I have received no response.

The high grass and one chevron sign.

Could Umdoni Municipality please address this matter urgently.
