OPINION: ‘People don’t appreciate road repairs’

One lady driver started to drive down the right hand lane, but half way down the road decided to drive between the cones onto the section with the wet tar, damaging it in the process.

Dear Editor,

The people on the South Coast complain weekly in the newspaper about the poor condition of our roads, but when the contractors do make an effort to repair them selfish drivers simply tear the roads up again.

On Tuesday, April 16 contractors were re-tarring the left side of Mdoni Road in Umtentweni. You could only drive on the right hand side of the road.They had red cones barricading the road and two people directing the traffic with a stop and go signs on both sides of the road.
